ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Sales Engineer at HIGHCAT, you'll be the technical bridge between our products and the government, security, and public safety customers who depend on them. You'll demonstrate our systems and subsystems in the field, translate complex technical capabilities into terms that matter to operators and procurement officials alike, and carry customer requirements / scope changes back to engineering so we build what actually solves their problems. This is a role for someone who stands behind our product and communicates through technical credibility to key governmental officials and stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Technical Demonstration & Customer Engagement

• Conduct hands-on product demonstrations for military, government, and public safety customers, translating technical capabilities into operational value

• Serve as the technical authority in customer conversations, answering deep product questions on the spot and building credibility with technically sophisticated buyers

• Support field trials, evaluations, and pilot deployments, ensuring the product performs as promised in real operational conditions

B2G Relationship Management

• Navigate government and military procurement processes, understanding the unique requirements, timelines, and stakeholders involved in public sector sales

• Build and maintain relationships with technical evaluators, program managers, and end users across defense, public safety, and critical infrastructure customers

• Represent HIGHCAT at industry events, trade shows, and customer sites

Requirements Translation

• Serve as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring field feedback can impact important architectural decisions

• Work closely with engineering to understand what's technically feasible and communicate constraints honestly to customers

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Partner with engineering, and finance to ensure smooth handoffs from sales to deployment

• Provide accurate technical and operational input into proposals and contract discussions

ABOUT YOU

• Experience in a sales engineering, field applications, or technical account role, ideally selling hardware/software integrated products into government, defense, or public safety markets

• Military service, veteran status, or direct exposure to military/first-responder operational environments strongly preferred. Ideally, you understand the context our customers operate in

• Comfortable with technical depth: you can speak credibly about hardware, software, and systems integration without needing an engineer to translate for you

• Track record of navigating B2G sales cycles: RFPs, procurement processes, and the longer, more relationship-driven pace of government sales

• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, from field operators to program managers, this includes fluent German and English.

• Genuine passion for HIGHCAT's mission. You’re driven by our product and what we do here and actively want to be a part of that.

What You Can Expect

Mission and Impact

• Direct, regular contact with the firefighters, soldiers, and emergency responders who use our products

• Work alongside founders Jan Hartmann and Dominik Faißt, who prioritize mission success over politics

• Foundation-building experience shaping how a mission-driven company engages its most demanding customers

About HIGHCAT

HIGHCAT builds technology that protects those who protect us. We develop advanced systems for firefighters, military units, emergency responders, and critical infrastructure teams, delivering tools that enhance situational awareness, improve decision-making, and save lives in high-stakes environments. Our customers operate in conditions where technology failure means mission failure, and mission failure can mean loss of life. We take that responsibility seriously.

We're backed by leading venture capital and strategic partners who understand that defense, public safety, and critical infrastructure represent not just massive markets, but moral imperatives. Our team combines deep technical expertise with operational experience in the domains we serve. We're building at scale while staying primarily focused on the people who depend most on our technology. If you believe that technology should serve those who serve, and that operational excellence is how mission-driven companies turn vision into reality, HIGHCAT is where you belong.
